Allergy alert: Milk in McDonald’s fries

by Grace on March 31st, 2008

McDonald-french-fries It was a good thing that Ruth of Allergizer tagged me, otherwise I wouldn’t have read her post that McDonald’s french fries contain milk and wheat.

I verified this at the McDo website and sure enough -

*CONTAINS: WHEAT AND MILK (Natural beef flavor contains hydrolyzed wheat and hydrolyzed milk as starting ingredients.)

I found out that the warning was posted in 2006. Now, this is really weird because my daughter is allergic to milk and she has been eating McDonald’s french fries ever since I can remember. She hasn’t had the usual allergic reaction but she does cough, so I wonder if this is that.

No more McDonald’s for us, then. I can’t take chances.

I did check Burger King’s ingredient list again and the fries are safe.
