Girls bicycles recalled due to frame failure

Trek Bicycle Corp is recalling Trek MT220 Girls bicycles after receiving 13 reports of frames breaking and resulting to injuries. The bicycle’s frame can break during use, causing the rider to lose control and suffer injuries.

This recall involves Trek girls’ bicycles model MT220 years 2005 to 2007, and may come in several colors:

2005: light metallic blue (pictured)        2006: metallic silver and metallic purple or pink and pearl white                       2007: pink and white pearl or metallic purple

The model name is printed on the frame of the bicycle. Model year 2008 bicycles re not included in this recall. Immediately return the bicycle to a Trek dealer for a free replacement MT220 girl’s bicycle or a $100 discount on a different size Trek bicycle.

    It seems like there is a new product recall everyday. I am especially concerned about all the recalls on children’s toys and household products. I set up a personal file that alerts me to all product recalls and it sends me a timely notice when one of my products has been recalled.
