Polar Plunge ‘08
Yesterday I posted about a toddler who fell into a frozen pond, but how about plunging into a freezing bay, on purpose?
You’d be CRAZY!
Well, maybe not if you’re doing it for a good cause.
Yesterday, the world’s largest polar plunge, and Maryland’s most successful single-day fundraiser was held at Sandy Point State Park in less than 32 degrees Fahrenheit weather! BRRR!!!
The Maryland State Police Polar Plunge benefits the Maryland Special Olympics, and this year the event raised more than $2 million $3 million! Thanks to everyone who took the plunge! You just warmed the hearts of some very special people.

Several years ago I took a plunge into a frozen lake. My body went into shock as I fell throught the frigid water. Fortunately my friend recognized that I lost all body function and he pulled me to the shore. While many folks survive this shock I don’t recommend taking such a plunge.
